Jennifer L. Frisch Appointed to Fill Second Judicial District Vacancy

Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Ms. Jennifer L. Frisch as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. Ms. Frisch will be replacing the Honorable Kathleen R. Gearin, who retired earlier this year. The judgeship will be chambered at St. Paul in Ramsey County.

“Throughout her career, Jennifer Frisch has developed an exemplary record of legal scholarship and professionalism,” said Governor Dayton. “Ms. Frisch’s commitment to high ethical standards and her efforts to expand diversity in the legal profession have greatly enhanced our court system and the people it serves."

Ms. Frisch is the Senior Associate General Counsel for the University of Minnesota, handling civil litigation on behalf of the Regents of the University of Minnesota. Previously, she was an attorney at Kelly & Berens, P.A., where she practiced commercial litigation. Ms. Frisch earned her B.A. with honors from Macalester College and her J.D. with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Law.

Additionally, Ms. Frisch is a member of the Federal Practice Committee, the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the General Rules of Practice for District Courts and serves as an investigator for the Second Judicial District Ethics Committee. She is also a member of the Diversity Committee for the Minnesota Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, serves as an instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School and teaches English classes at Neighborhood House in Saint Paul.

Ms. Frisch resides with her family in Saint Paul.
