Supreme Court Announces Openings on Juvenile Protection Procedure Advisory Committee

The Supreme Court is seeking attorneys, trial and appellate court judges, court administrators, and child protection social workers to fill several vacancies on the Advisory Committee on the Rules of Juvenile Protection Procedure and Adoption Procedure. The Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing the rules of juvenile protection procedure and adoption procedure, and proposing amendments to those rules. Once appointed, the committee’s initial focus will include a review of the rules for proposed or necessary amendments to accommodate electronic filing and service in the district courts. Due to the anticipated schedule for implementation of electronic filing and service, the committee’s first meeting will be in September 2014. Applicants must be able to participate based on the committee’s intended delivery of a report to the Court, with recommended changes or amendments, by December 2014. Term of service is limited to three years, renewable at the discretion of the Court for an additional term.
