Supreme Court Announces Openings on Criminal Rules Advisory Committee

The Supreme Court is seeking a city prosecutor, a private defense attorney, and a county prosecutor to fill three vacancies on the Advisory Committee on Rules of Criminal Procedure. The Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing the rules of criminal procedure and proposing amendments to those rules. The committee is currently considering several proposed amendments to the rules, and may review proposed or necessary amendments to accommodate electronic filing and service in the district courts. Due to the anticipated schedule for implementation of electronic filing and service, applicants must be able to participate in the committee’s deliberations based on an expected delivery of a report to the Court for any recommended rule changes or amendments for eFiling and eService by December 2014. Term of service is limited to three years, renewable at the discretion of the Court for an additional term.
