Minnesota Court Employees Achieve Certification from the Institute for Court Management

48 court employees receive special certification

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - A graduation awards ceremony last week recognized 48 court administrators, managers, and supervisors from courts throughout Minnesota who completed the Court Management Program (CMP) of the Institute for Court Management (ICM). ICM is the educational arm of the National Center for State Courts.

Those completing the CMP Certificate program:

First District: Yvonne Black, Jeri Boetcher, Vicki Carlson, Brian Jones, Joanne Kopet, Heather Montpetit, Carolyn Renn

Second District: Cathy Clausen, Sue Halpern, David Marchetti, Therese Pederson

Third District: Kristine Bartness, Sally Cumiskey, Annette Hodge, Darlene Larson

Prior to participation in the week-long CMP Concluding Seminar, each candidate completed five core courses in court administration:  Court Performance Standards, Fundamental Issues of Caseflow Management, Managing Court Financial Resources, Managing Human Resources, and Managing Technology Projects and Technology Resources

The Court Management Program seminars were sponsored by the Minnesota Association for Court Management (MACM) and the Minnesota Supreme Court Education and Organizational Development Office (EOD). MACM received a $20,000 grant from the State Justice Institute (SJI) to defray costs of the program.

The National Center for State Courts, founded in 1971, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the administration of justice by providing leadership, research, technology, and education services to the state courts. Since 2000, over 500 court professionals from across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands have achieved certification.
