This message is for all Jurors whose terms begin on Monday, March 23, 2020; Monday, April 6, 2020; and Monday, April 20, 2020:
As ordered by the Minnesota Supreme Court in response to the current pandemic, there will be no jury trials prior to April 22, 2020. If you have been summoned for jury service during this time, you are not required to report right now. If your service is needed, you will receive written notice when trials start again. You must still complete your Juror Questionnaire according to the instructions on your summons. We thank you in advance for completing your Questionnaire online if you are able. During construction, you will be entering the building from the 5th Ave. side of the complex (back/south side). Check in is located at the Government Center. Please follow the signs to the second floor jury assembly room, 202B.
Overflow parking is available at St. Mark's Catholic Church lot on the north side of the government complex and St. John's Church at 119 8th Ave. West (3 blocks south).
Scott County has morning and afternoon court and there can be up to 20 jury trials scheduled on any given day. You will be asked to call in after 4:30 p.m. on most days and you will receive reporting information for the next days’ court calendar. There will be times when you may have to call or check the website at 11:00 a.m. and if your group number is identified, the report time would be 12:45 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. that same day. It is very important to tell your employer that you are currently on-call for jury duty as you may be asked to leave work in the middle of the day to report.

Avenue West, Shakopee, MN. Jurors are expected to be neat in appearance. Business casual attire is recommended. You may wish to bring reading materials for time you may spend waiting during the selection process. Electronic devices are permitted in the jury assembly room, but are not allowed in the courtroom. Jurors will be subject to weapons screening upon entering the courthouse. Your little Swiss army knife on your key chain will not go through security. You may bring snacks or beverages in closed containers. There are vending machines available on site. You should park on the south side of the building or along 5TH Avenue. Be aware that some of the on-street parking has a two hour limit so avoid those areas.
