Minnesota Court Payment Center

The transition of payable citations for 85 counties into a new Court Payment Center was a a two-year statewide effort that concluded at the end of the 2010-2011 biennium.  The primary benefits of converting diverse district-based, payable citation processing to a single Court Payment Center include:

  • Reduction of staff costs by creating efficiencies only possible in larger offices, freeing up Judicial Branch funds for use on higher priority court work
  • Increased collections, resulting in more funding for municipalities and the state general fund
  • A new and more efficient way for the public to pay outstanding fines
