Interpreter Training

To Satisfy Minnesota Roster Training Requirements:

Court Interpreter Ethics Training & Testing

The first step to joining the MN Court Interpreter Program is attending our ethics training and testing. Interpreters who want to work in Minnesota state courts must attend a three-hour Ethics Training Session and receive a passing score on the Ethics Exam in order to be added to the Minnesota Statewide Roster of Court Interpreters.

New Court Interpreter Orientation

Interpreters who have passed the Ethics Exam are welcome to attend our two-day Orientation Program for Court Interpreters, a mandatory step in joining the Minnesota Court Interpreter Roster. This orientation program provides Court Interpreters an introduction to the Minnesota Judicial system, describes the role of court interpreters, identifies common legal terms, and teaches interpreters skill-building techniques.

A special Court Interpreter Orientation and Ethics Exam Program will be held on August 23rd & 24th, 2014 for interpreters currently in high demand in the Minnesota Courts based on specific language ability.

Interpreters of the following languages only are eligible for this program and encouraged to attend:
