Pilot Project Definition

The Minnesota Judicial Branch piloted eFiling and eService in Minnesota's two largest counties, Hennepin and Ramsey, in 2011 and 2012 for a limited number of civil cases. eFiling for some civil case types became mandatory effective September 1, 2012, in Ramsey and Hennepin counties.

In 2012, pilot eFiling began in other Minnesota counties with civil and family cases.

The pilots will expand in late 2012 and early 2013 to include criminal, probate, mental health, and juvenile protection and delinquency cases.

The pilots will test eFiling and eService in different county sizes and geographical locations before statewide introduction of eFiling and eService. These pilots are governed by pilot orders issued by the Supreme Court.
