In 1983 Judge McBride was appointed to chair the Metropolitan Parks and Open Spaces Commission, which was charged with planning and funding the development of Minnesota’s Regional Park System. In 1983 he was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Sub-Cabinet on Metropolitan Affairs to provide advice and guidance to the governor on issues impacting the metropolitan area. Through his work with International Short Term Missions, Judge McBride has served as a member and leader of work teams that assist in the building of schools in Africa, Jamaica, and Haiti. Judge McBride has also served as Co-Budget Director of Operation Classroom, a service organization that seeks funding and sponsors work teams to developing nations for the purpose of constructing primary schools.
