Peter A. Hoff, Breckenridge, was appointed to the Eighth Judicial District trial court bench on Oct. 28, 1994, and elected in 1996, 2002, and 2008. He retired on Jan. 31, 2011.
Appointed and assigned to serve statewide as Senior Judge from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2013.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, he practiced with the law firm of Hoff, Svingen, Athens and Russell, Fergus Falls, MN, for 27 years. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and received his juris doctorate from the University of Minneosta Law School in 1967. Judge Hoff is married to Liz who is a registered nurse who recently retired from working at the Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, Minnesota. They have four adult children, Kate, Megan, Molly, and Nathan, and six grandchildren.
