Professional Organizations and Activities:
Judge Johnson has served and continues to serve in many capacities and on numerous committees within the Judiciary. The most recent include the Minnesota District Judges Association, the ITV Protocol Committee, The Children's Justice Initiative, Judicial Education Advisory Committee, and the Civil Commitment Task Force. She was instrumental in creating the Education for Families in Divorce Transition education program for Winona County which is widely acclaimed and has been emulated throughout the State of Minnesota. She has been a teacher in that program since its inception.
Judge Johnson is also active in her community, serving in numerous volunteer positions. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Winona Community Foundation and the Women's Initiative for Health and Life.
She has been actively and directly involved in preservation of historic buildings in Winona County and is also a Winona County Historical Society volunteer. Judge Johnson is an enthusiast, participant and supporter of Winona's arts community. She is involved in local theater, visual arts events and the Winona Film Society. In her leisure time, Judge Johnson is a student of the Italian language, an avid traveler, reader, writer, and artisan baker.
