Juvenile Court
The 4th District Juvenile Division handles matters involving children under the age of eighteen (18). Cases are categorized as either a delinquency or a child protection matter. Our mission is to provide excellent customer service to all court users, including the public, parties, justice agencies, and the media. Along with judicial efforts, Juvenile Court judges and staff work with other government agencies and community organizations to develop and refine programs that help to ensure a safe and healthy environment for juveniles.

- Effective October 22, 2012, eFile and eServe is available in Juvenile Court. Use of the system is voluntary and limited to professionals within our partnering justice agencies. After a six-month pilot period, use of the eFile and eServe system will be available to all parties wishing to file Juvenile Court documents.
- April 12, 2012 - Juvenile Court has released its 2011 Report Card to the Community. The Report Card provides the public with information on how the court is doing in meeting its objectives.
- June 24, 2009 - 4 year pilot program (Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative) achieves goal. Beginning in 2005, the Courts, County Attorney's Office, Minneapolis Police, the city and schools began a colloboration to reduce the number of youth held in secure detention and to eliminate the racial disparities in juvenile justice while holding young people accountable for their behavior. » More... - January 1, 2008 - Walk-in counter and telephone services from the court close to the public at 1:30p on Wednesdays. All court appearances and trials will continue as scheduled on Wednesday afternoons. » More...
