Subpoenas
Subpoenas for civil cases in Minnesota are processed in accordance with MN Rule of Civil Procedure 45. The court administrator issues a subpoena form with the court's signature on it to the party requesting it, and the party must fill out the relevant blanks in the subpoena before having it served. An attorney licensed in Minnesota may also issue and sign a subpoena on behalf of the Minnesota court where the case is filed.
In Person
A party to a case filed in the 4th District Court can get a civil subpoena by visiting the Civil Intake Counter on the 2nd floor (public service level) at the Hennepin County Government Center. There is a fee for each subpoena requested which is payable at the time of the request.
By Mail
A party can also request a subpoena related to a 4th District Court case by mailing a letter that includes the court case file number and a check made payable to "District Court Administrator" with the fee for each subpoena to:
