Divorce Education Program

The law in MN Statute § 518.157 requires that parents who have children together and who are getting divorced must attend a divorce education program if they have contested custody or parenting time issues.

If you are a parent filing for divorce in Hennepin County and you do not agree on custody or parenting time, you must attend one of these 4th District certified education programs:

• "Divorce Education Class"

  University of Minnesota Extension Service - www.extension.umn.edu

If you want to attend a different divorce education program, please contact the judicial officer assigned to your case to find out if they will accept the certificate of attendance from that program.
