How to locate a debtor's assets

Here are a few tips on how you can locate the debtor(s) and/or their assets:

• Check phone books and the Internet to locate a current home address. This information is important to the collection process. Some helpful websites include: www.411.com and www.switchboard.com.
• You may also be able to locate the debtor’s bank account by looking at canceled checks that you had written to the debtor.
• If you know someone who also knows the debtor, ask them for information.
