General Information
The Fillmore County Courthouse is located in downtown Preston, at the intersection of St Anthony Street and Fillmore Street. The city of Preston is located 35 miles southeast of Rochester on US Highway 52. Public parking is available in the lot on the east side of the courthouse, as well as on the street.

The Court Administrator's Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. The county observes the following holidays: New Year's Day; President's Day; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Veteran's Day; Thanksgiving Day and the day after; and Christmas Day. Effective March 1, 2008, counter service and phone service will be curtailed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each Thursday.

You must appear in court if:
1. You plead not guilty or guilty with an explanation.
2. You are involved in an accident.
Failure to pay, appear, or contact the court on or by the court date given on your ticket may result in driver's license suspension (any state), a warrant being issued and increased fines.
You may plead not guilty and request a court or jury trial at the arraignment date issued with your ticket or by letter to the court. Jury trials are not available for petty misdemeanor violations. We will then schedule the matter for trial and notify you and the officer by letter of the date and time for the trial. Please advise us of your not guilty plea on or before the court date issued on your ticket.
