The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights act that protects people with disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, State and local government services, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation, and telecommunications.
The 4th Judicial District is committed to providing equal opportunities to persons with disabilities in both employment and access to court services, consistent with the ADA and other court policies. We will make reasonable accommodations and provide auxiliary aids and assistance to people who need or want to interact with the court so that our programs and services are readily accessible to people with known disabilities. Auxiliary aids may include qualified readers or interpreters, assistive listening devices, video captioning and decoders, TDD/TTY machines, note-takers, transcription services, taped text, or Brailed and large-print materials.
Since everyone’s needs are different, we ask that you notify the court of your need for accommodation by filling out the ADA Accommodation Request Form and returning it to our Human Resources Division at least 10 business days (if possible) before going to court or using a court service.
