(Note:  The registration fees paid by all lawyers admitted to practice law in Minnesota are intended to cover the expenses of the Board of Law Examiners and the State Board of Professional Responsibility.  The Court’s rule provides that $18 of the $25 registration fee paid by lawyers shall be allocated to disciplinary proceedings.  Therefore, in 1972, the minimum amount available for disciplinary proceedings was $84,996.  However, the entire balance of the fund after payment of expenses of the Board of Law Examiners is available for disciplinary matters.  This means that there will always be a minimum amount available for disciplinary procedures; there may or may not be additional funds available, depending upon the expenses of the State Board of Law Examiners.)
