SHC staff can answer questions on court forms and procedures, and give referrals for legal advice. Your questions will be answered by a court employee, who may be an attorney. There is no attorney-client privilege or confidentiality of any information you tell court staff, and we cannot give legal advice or recommend you choose specific legal options. If you have questions about your legal rights or what you should do in your case, please contact a lawyer for advice. Checkmark Court Forms Review Service

If you are representing yourself in a court case and you fill out court forms using a computer (e.g., Word, PDF, I-CAN, etc.), the Self-Help Center can review your forms BEFORE YOU FILE them to help you make sure you completed all of the required steps. Contact us by phone or email when you are done with your forms or if you have questions.

workstations Self-Help Center Workstations

All courthouses in Minnesota have a Self-Help workstation that can be used to find court information, print court forms, and to talk with Self-Help staff about forms, procedures and legal resources. The workstations have a computer, printer and direct-dial phone to talk with Self-Help Center staff. Self-Help workstations are also located in the following public libraries:

Brookdale Public Library (Hennepin Co.)
Ridgedale Public Library (Hennepin Co.)
Southdale Public Library (Hennepin Co.)
Rondo Public Library (Ramsey Co.) (no phone)

Each Minnesota county also has a law library that is open to the public, and some have staff and free access to online legal databases and forms.
