Education:
Judge Hoyos earned his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He also graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School.
Past Employment:
Judge Hoyos has a broad background as both a criminal prosecutor and defense attorney. Most recently, he served as a prosecutor in Ramsey County where he handled felony cases, focusing primarily on violent crimes. Before that, he spent nearly 15 years as a public defender. During his career, Judge Hoyos tried more than 100 felony jury trials.
