The Minnesota Supreme Court Invites Applications to Serve on the Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project Standing Committee

The Minnesota Supreme Court invites applicants with experience in legal proceedings involving domestic abuse as well as Order for Protection and Harassment Restraining Order proceedings for appointment to the Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project Standing Committee. Judicial officers, attorneys, and certified legal paraprofessionals, are welcome to apply.  Appointments will be for a term through at least March 31, 2023, in order to allow the committee to complete the work as directed by the court. 
The Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project Standing Committee oversees implementation of the pilot project, with the goal of improving access to legal services. The Committee works with the State Court Administrator to establish procedures to review applications submitted by legal paraprofessionals to be certified as authorized to participate in the pilot and prepares reports on the pilot project.  Specific details about the scope of the pilot project and the Standing Committee’s responsibilities can be found in the court’s order authorizing the pilot, see Order Implementing Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project, ADM19-8002 (Minn. filed Sept. 29, 2020).
Applicants interested in appointment must submit a letter of interest and resume. Application materials should be sent to Christa Rutherford-Block, Clerk of the Appellate Courts, via e-mail at or via U. S. Mail at 305 Judicial Center, 25 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155. E-mail applications are preferred, but whether sent by U.S. Mail or electronically, all applications must be received by the Clerk no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, October 21, 2022.
